This are the places where I spend the most time when I’m not looking for anything specific, in no particular order.
- Global Voices: aggregates, curates, and amplifies the global conversation online – shining light on places and people other media often ignore. That’s their tagline. It’s a great way to find news, some of them almost in real time, that are sometimes censored by (the governments of) the countries that produce them. Remember last Iranian presidential election? Must read.
- Tremendous News: sarcastic and funny guy bashes the Universe. Great for your free-time browsing or morning coffee.
- Techmeme: best tech news aggregator on the web. Period.
- Engadget: boyz toyz!!!! (Didn’t like the fluke they made with the comments. Good that they fixed it).
- BoingBoing: a blog for random stuff. You always find something interesting here.
- iO9: my favorite source for movies and TV shows recaps, previews, reviews and rumors.
- Esquizopedia: “It’s a blog of news, culture and trends, kind of a WIRED from the 3rd world and devaluated, urban, technologically incorrect. A mental blog, as his writer describes it”. @Inti hasn’t been updating that much lately. I think he has his hands full with his other job at Hipertextual. It’s in spanish, but very readable with Google Translate, unless you read Spanish.
- Google Earth Blog: a great way to discover places around the world.
- PhysOrg: latest discoveries and science news. Cutting edge.
That’s it for now. Enjoy!
