If you’ve never heard about Guy Kawasaki, it’s time you do.
Guy is the founder of Alltop, one of the internet’s biggest “online magazine racks” of news topics. He is also the former Chief evangelist of Apple. Here’s his full resume.
Let me start by saying that unlike 99.9% of American literature -specially business literature- Enchantment doesn’t feel like it follows the typical rhetoric:
[success story] [2 lines of concepts] [another success story] [2 lines of concepts]
Enchantment is different, even though there’s no lack of examples and stories, the book enchants by seemingly intertwining experiences and concepts. It is what makes it such an easy read. Enchantment is one of those books that are edible in just a weekend and leaves you wanting for more.
Enchantment is Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People 2.0 with a bit of Malcolm Gladwell’s Outliers. And it’s more; as common wisdom says, the whole is more than the sum of its parts.
Guy’s masterpiece is about influence and persuasion. It’s a book for you, me and specially for entrepreneurs that want to start a company as enthralling as Apple, Google or Microsoft (during its golden years). Enchantment takes you on a journey that starts from the personal traits you need to develop to hypnotize crowds, to the characteristics a company must have to become a consumer magnet.
I hope you enjoy reading Enchantment as much as I did. It will be out in stores tomorrow (March 8th).
Get your copy at a discounted price here. Or pre-order today and get a free copy of Guy’s last book “Reality Check” (US only).
This is what others who have read the book have to say:
“Guy’s book captures the importance — and the art — of believing in an idea that delivers something entirely unique to the customer. The power of a really good idea to transform the marketplace and individual customer experiences is huge, and this book offers a wealth of insights to help businesses and entrepreneurs tap into that potential.”
— Sir Richard Branson, Founder of the Virgin Group
“Read this book to create a company as enchanting as Apple.”
— Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple
“You feel it when you drive a BMW, touch an Apple iPad, walk into a Sephora store, or buy shoes from Zappos. Kawasaki reveals how you can deliver the same enchanting experiences as these famous brands.”
— Robert Scoble, Rackspace Videoblogger
